Soft Ground, Clean Trenches

"We bought the excavator mainly to sort out drainage. The ground here stays wet for most of the year, and the old ditches had silted up completely. The rubber tracks are the reason it works: it goes across the soft ground beside the lake without cutting it up or getting stuck, and it still has the reach to clean out a proper trench from the bank. The dumper takes the spoil away as I cut, so I am not stopping every few metres to clear a pile behind me. Two fields done in a week, on my own, with no damage to the pasture."
